Welcome to my corner and to my attempt to keep a professional blog .
Let's start with : why drive your life?
As a life coach, I work with people to help them achieve their goals and create the life that they want. I don’t do the work for you because only you can drive your life towards your goal, but I’ll be there in the passenger seat, cheering you on and making sure you are going in the direction that leads to your end goal.
Since this is my first post, I thought it would be best to start with setting my intentions. Setting intentions is often mixed up with setting goals but there are differences. Goals are future oriented and have a fixed outcome with tangible and external results. The drawbacks to setting goals is that it can be exhausting, overwhelming, and due to its focus on the future, take us out of enjoying the present moment. Intentions, on the other hands, focus on the present, with intangible and inner results; it’s a mindset of how we will achieve this goal. Goals and intentions complement rather than substitute each other.
Examples of goals vs. intentions:
Praying more is a goal, but the decision to be in the present while praying is an intention.
Finishing a task is a goal, while declaring that “I will do my best” is an intention.
Setting an intention could also be a goal. One great habit to practice is to set intentions for the day, week or a certain event. For example, “my intention for this week is stay present, be open to all possibilities and allow myself to receive love,” or perhaps “my intention for this meeting is to be open to listening to new ideas and refrain for judging others.”
As a personal example, my goal is to keep a blog on issues and topics that are related to life and self- development (and maybe other things :P)
My intentions are:
a) To trust my intuition to choose what I should write about,
b) To allow my vulnerability to shine and take over my need for perfection,
c) To be open to connecting with others, and to learn and share my knowledge,
d) To have fun with this column!
I would love to hear from you so feel free to drop me an email : email@example.com
Let me know some of your intentions or if there is a specific topic you want me to address. I am a quote junkie so here is my first quote:
“Every journey begins with the first step of articulating the intention, and then becoming the intention.” ― Bryant McGill, Voice of Reason
